1.What is PSA
PSA means pressure sensitive adhesive, which is Sensitive to pressure, applying a certain pressure can wet the surface of the adhered object and form a bond with it. When peeling from the surface of the adherend, the adhesive does not damage the body material of the adherend and does not contaminate the surface of the adherend.

2.How does PSA work
How PSA work- Adhesion and Cohesion.
Cohesion-Internal strength of material.
industrial tape

Adhesion- Force between dissimilar surface.

3.Initial and ultimate adhesion
Initial adhesion is measured with no dwell time, while ultimate adhesion is adhesion measured by putting PSA in the environment of 70 F for 72 hours.
4.How to maximize contact area.
1)Time- For adhesive to flow.
2)Temperature- Decrease adhesive viscosity, accelerate adhesive to flow, improve wetting.
3)Pressure- Accelerate adhesive to flow, Improve surface wetting, eliminate trapped air.
5.Loss of adhesion mode and adhesive quality evaluation method
Common loss of adhesion mode
Bond failure

Cohesion failure

Substrate damage

6.How to measure the quality of PSA
1)Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Adhesion Test ---- Dynamic Peel Strength Test.
The force required to peel off standard area of pressure sensitive adhesive from the test panel at a specific speed and angle under a specific temperature environment.

2)Cohesion Test of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive ---- Static Shear Strength Test.
The time required for a standard area of pressure-sensitive adhesive to slide from the test plate after a constant load is mounted under a specific temperature environment.

3)Cohesion test of pressure sensitive adhesive-dynamic shear strength test.
The force required for Standard area of pressure-sensitive adhesive mounts constantly under the constant temperature environment when it slips from the test plate.
